Here’s what’s going on at Time Out Market New York this week
As New Yorkers get out this fall in NYC, Time Out Market New York has a busy schedule to keep the fun rolling.
The market has an ongoing happy hour from 4 to 7pm during the week (what’s not to love about $6 select draught beers, $9 specialty cocktails and $8 select wines?), but there’s much more going on this spring.
Below is the current schedule of recurring events at Time Out Market New York:
Love Local Tuesdays
Visitors to the Market receive 20% off drinks all day long if they’re a resident, first responder or worker in Dumbo. (Just a heads up: the deal is not valid during Happy Hour.) Just be sure to bring some proof of identification to take advantage of the neighborhood-focused deal.
Mixxy Mixer Wednesdays
Connect with like-minded people and expand your network at Mixxy Mixer! From 7 to 10pm, every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at Time Out Market New York, meet new folks while enjoying music by MORESOUPPLEASE, specialty cocktails from 10 to 1 Rum, and crispy rice specials from Kamasu Sushi.
Salsa Thursdays
Every Thursday from 6-9pm on the fifth floor of the Market, instructor Marlene Veras will lead you through the steps to beats by percussionist Ronnie Roc for a solid foundation before you break out into a full-on salsa dance party with tunes from DJ Ray Suave. It’s free!
Saturdays: Pizza-making, Bottomless Brunch and Latin Mix
Every other Sunday morning, starting February 12, Fornino will lead a group of newbies in how to craft the perfect pie. Participants will be provided with pizza-making materials as well as sparkling pomegranate toast. Tickets are $50 for one parent and one child.
The market now has a Bottomless Brunch! For $55, you’ll receive a $35 TOM Card toward the meal of your choice from the market’s concessions and you can choose from Bottomless mimosas and bellinis from noon to 3pm.
If you want a fun night out, come out for Latin Mix Saturdays. From 7 to 10pm every Saturday, Ronnie Roc & DJ Torres will provide tunes to dance to. Special drinks will be available at the Time Out Market Bar to cool you down and spice things up between noon and 5pm, including specials like the Rum Punch Pouch ($12), the Very Berry Sangria ($12) and Modelo Drafts ($6).
Sundays: Bottomless Brunch
Bottomless Brunch ($55) is also available on Sundays. Grab pancakes from Clinton St. Baking Co. and more.
Upcoming events
Halloween at Time Out Market New York
From Thursday, October 26 to Thursday, November 2, come haunt the Dumbo food hall to scare up two ghoulishly Instagrammable cocktails—the Ta-Kill-A-Zombie and the Witches Potion. There’s also an exciting slate of fun to be had from the start, from salsa dancing to Halloween costume contests and more.
Egg roll-making
Learn hands-on how to make your own egg roll with The Rogue Panda, one of Time Out New York’s newest vendors. Every other Monday, the chefs at The Rogue Panda will lead visitors through the process of making an egg roll.
Paint and Sip
Starting November 15, Private Picassos will host paint and sip nights where they’ll demonstrate basic watercolor techniques to create a winter landscape, followed by ample time for students to experiment on their own.
Drinksgiving
Join us at the market for a day of drink specials—something to be grateful for! All day on November 22, enjoy $5 beer, $8 Brooklyn Pumpkin Spiced Beer, $8 Truly Spritzers and $12 specialty cocktails courtesy of Sagamore Rye. Those who swing by can pick up some sweet swag from Sagamore Rye, Six Point, and Brooklyn Brewery. DJ Checko will be providing tunes from 5 to 7pm and then DJ Liondub with host Lady M will take over from 7 to 10pm.
The Wine Cave
The Market has turned one of its little nooks into a wine bar, replete with a few dozen varieties. The intimate cave-like space seats about 30 and boasts nearly 40 bottles of red, white and rosé on the menu as well as freshly sliced charcuterie for boards and sandwiches and Raclette heated on demand.
New vendors
Baklava Bakery
A wholesale bakery’s first-ever retail shop, Baklava Bakery at Time Out Market will offer more than its perfected phyllo dough and pistachio signature sweets. The Middle Eastern bites, handheld crêpes, and cute “candy sushi” will all appear on the menu as well.
The Rogue Panda
This is the Brooklyn debut of this plant-based Chinese spot. Its premiere menu includes mapo tofu, noodles and crispy kung pao brussels sprouts. Its Sichuan street noodles with bok choy, crispy shallots and chili oil in a “tingly ragu” are the signature dish, and Yuzu lavender boba lemonade, golden masala chai boba and a seasonal iced tea will wash it all down.
The Maiz Project
The Maiz Project began as a pop-up operation selling arepas with a Venezuelan touch. Now, at the market, they’ll include varieties like steak with white cheese and chimichurri, chicken with avocado and muenster, shrimp with avocado and garlic butter and chorizo with Irish cheddar and salsa verde. Tequeños and ceviche are also on the permanent menu!
