This LES pizzeria is now offering an 8-course pizza omakase experience

We might have just reached peak pizza in New York: Lower East Side pizzeria Biga Bite will soon launch what they deem to be the first-ever pizza omakase experience in the city.

Known for dishing out ten-foot-long pies, the destination at 1 Clinton Street will now push the boundaries of what New Yorkers might consider acceptable pizza-making by offering an intimate dining experience that draws inspiration from traditional sushi omakase meals.

The eight-course tasting menu served in one-hour seatings will be available starting December 16 on Mondays through Thursdays. Full disclosure: each course consists of a bite-size pizza.

"Pizza Omakase is a way for me to connect with guests on a deeper level," said chef Giovanni Barbieri in an official statement. "It's an opportunity to showcase the versatility of Roman-style pizza and share my love for innovative flavor combinations."

Guests will be presented with a series of individual pizza creations that will be "perfectly portioned for two bites."

There will be two menu options: vegetarian ($40) and non-vegetarian ($55). The former includes a classic Margherita, an eggplant parmigiana pie, a cacio e pepe option and a Nutella and pistachio one for dessert, among other dishes. Non-vegetarian eaters will get to revel in a beef tartare panino pizza, a duck breast pumpkin cream with toasted hazelnuts one and a Nutella and roasted marshmallows with pistachio version as a grand (sweet!) finale.

No matter what menu you choose, the chef will personally present each course, perhaps even grating some truffle or cheese on top.

Wine pairings are available for an additional $30 (totally worth it, if you ask us) but keep in mind that the experience kicks off with a complimentary glass of Prosecco.

Whether Biga Bite will earn a spot on our list of best pizza places in New York is yet to be seen, but we must admit that this whole omakase experience has tickled our culinary senses.
