Cheer on the official parade

Let's get the big one out of the way: Held since 1762, the city's official St. Patrick's Day parade is an annual favorite and is the largest of its kind in the world. Take in all of the drum bands, dancers and more as they transform midtown Manhattan into a big green-hued bash this Tuesday, March 17 beginning at 11am. (The parade begins at 44th Street, marching up Fifth Avenue—past St. Patrick's Cathedral at 50th Street—all the way to 79th Street.)

Outside of Manhattan, there are other parades held throughout the boroughs, including the Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade in Park Slope and the Throggs Neck St. Patrick’s Day Parade, both on March 15; and the Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 22. 

Join Stone Street's giant outdoor celebration

Stone Street always throws a huge party for Paddy's Day and this year is no exception. From Friday, March 13 through Tuesday, March 17, FiDi's cobblestone streets will be lined with live Irish bands, traditional bagpipers, DJ sets and plenty of food and drink, including Guinness on tap and "Shamrock" margaritas.

Tap a toe to trad music

40 Shades of Green will bring six-hours of live performances from 40 different musical and dance acts to the New York Irish Center in Queens from 3-9pm on Tuesday, March 17. Performers include: The Celtic Tenors; Donie Carroll & Mo O’Connor; Jason E. Bernard; Emer Dunne; Bronagh and Bob Batch; and more.

Do it up at the Dead Rabbit

The acclaimed Water Street watering hole is bringing back its "It’s Paddy’s, Not Patty’s" all weekend long through March 17, with live comedy sets, musical performances, festive cocktail specials (hello, Irish Coffee Martinis!)traditional Sunday seisiún and more. 

Stock up on some Irish lit

Do a food crawl through Chelsea Market

On March 17 from 11am to 9pm, Chelsea Market will transform into a festive hub of green beer, Irish whiskey cocktails, shamrock slushies, mint milkshakes, classic corned beef and cabbage plates and more as the food hall's vendors—including Dickson’s Farmstand Meats, Creamline, The Lobster Place and Takumi Taco—offer limited-time bites and special themed drinks. 

Lace up for a 5k run

The 2026 St. Patrick's Day Run will kick off at noon at Tavern on the Green in Central Park; runners will do a 5k lap around the park perimeter followed by a post-race pub party. (A pint of Guiness is included in the ticket price.)

Enjoy some fancy fiddling at Carnegie Hall

Legendary fiddler Martin Hayes takes the stage yet again at Carnegie Hall this St. Patrick's Day, leading an exciting concert celebration featuring his Common Ground Ensemble and special guests. The evening will include traditional sean-nós singing and dancing, poetry, and modern takes on Irish traditions.
