If you've ever wondered what it feels like to recover like a pro athlete, there's now a place in SoHo where you can find out—provided you've got 15 minutes and $65.

Wellness destination 113 Spring has unveiled the Ammortal Chamber, a futuristic recovery pod that normally lives inside elite training facilities, luxury hotels and performance centers. Starting today, it's available to the public for the first time as part of the venue's new "Energy Exchange" programming, a series of wellness experiences focused on restoration rather than optimization.

The chamber itself carries a price tag of roughly $160,000 and stepping inside feels a bit like climbing into the world's most high-tech cocoon. During each guided session, you recline in a zero-gravity position while the capsule layers together red and near-infrared light therapy, pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) technology, vibroacoustic sound, guided breathwork and molecular hydrogen. A newly added projection system surrounds the chamber with visuals that change depending on whether the experience is focused on the body, mind or heart. According to 113 Spring, the goal is to encourage deep relaxation and help regulate the nervous system rather than simply recharge tired muscles.

The chamber anchors The Recalibration Room, one of several new installations debuting as part of 113 Spring's latest seasonal concept. But rather than promising endless productivity hacks, the space is taking aim at what it calls "optimization culture." "The wellness industry frequently treats energy as a problem to solve, a commodity to hack, stack, and optimize," Melissa Bunning, director of partnerships and programming at 113 Spring, said in a statement. "The Energy Exchange offers a broader lens for understanding energy... toward practices that prioritize restoration, adaptation, and collective living."

Beyond the chamber, visitors can take a personalized energy assessment, sip custom herbal teas developed with Shanghai's Silver Root Apothecary (making its U.S. debut), join guided "Energy Walks" through the city or order from a new performance-minded menu developed with sports physician Dr. Paul Schmidt-Hellinger. The entire program was reviewed by an advisory board that includes experts in neuroscience, immunology, internal medicine and preventive health.

The Energy Exchange launches today at 113 Spring Street and will continue rolling out new programming through January 2027. Whether you're chasing peak performance or simply looking for an unusually relaxing lunch break, this may be the closest New Yorkers can get to a professional recovery suite, no Olympic medal required.
