Lisa Rinna, Phaedra Parks, Dolores Catania and more 'Housewives' will star in this Off-Broadway comedy next year
A fancy party, an absent hostess and the imminent arrival of the police. It all sounds like a Bravo season finale—but next year, it will be a night at the theater.
Eight stars of The Real Housewives are heading Off Broadway for a revival of Neil Simon’s Rumors, with Lisa Rinna, Phaedra Parks and Dolores Catania among the women trading confessionals for curtain calls. The limited engagement begins January 9, 2027, at the Newman Mills Theater in the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space, with opening night on January 25. Performances run through April 21.

Naturally, the schedule includes a cast shake-up. From January 9 through February 28, Rinna will play Chris, Parks will play Claire, Stacey Rusch will play Cookie and Catania will play Cassie. On March 2, Cynthia Bailey, Eileen Davidson, Carole Radziwill and Candiace Dillard-Bassett take over those respective roles for the remainder of the run. (Casting for the characters’ husbands will be announced at a later date.)
The premise should feel familiar to anyone who has watched a Housewives dinner unravel. Four couples gather for a party in a wealthy New York suburb, expecting Champagne and a pleasant evening. Instead, their host is in an alarming state, his wife is missing and the cops are coming. Suddenly, everybody has a lot more to discuss than the seating arrangements.
Zhailon Levingston, a recent Tony winner for Cats: The Jellicle Ball, will direct. And while the casting invites plenty of Bravo associations, Simon’s script is staying intact. “Without changing a single word of Simon’s brilliant text, we can reveal something new in the piece,” Levingston said in a statement.
The original Rumors opened on Broadway in November 1988 with a cast that included Christine Baranski, Jessica Walter, Joyce Van Patten and Lisa Banes. This production will mark the New York stage debut of seven of its eight Housewives; Rinna previously played Roxie Hart in Chicago.
For New Yorkers used to watching these women from the couch, the draw is obvious; it's a chance to see their comic timing up close, without a reunion moderator to intervene. You’ll also need to choose which quartet you want to catch—or commit to coming back.
Tickets go on general sale October 30. Plan your own group outing accordingly!
